Young artists will expand creativity through an immersive experience in drawing and painting. With a focus on designing original characters, stories, and artistic visions, artists will learn techniques in colored pencils, pastels, ink, acrylics, watercolors, and more. Projects vary from color exploration and character creation to developing narratives.

Michael Hollick is a teaching artist for numerous programs at The Art Effect. He is a graduate of Dutchess Community College, and is currently pursuing an Art Education certification from SUNY New Paltz. A jack of all trades, Michael has experience in everything from vehicle maintenance, to graphic design, to general contracting and construction. He brings his wide range of skills and interests to art education: teaching his students how to make ambitious sculptures and expressive paintings. Michael is passionate about giving back to the community, and believes the best way to make a difference is by empowering the next generation. In his spare time Michael enjoys cooking for his family, going on hikes, and watching scary movies.
