In this course, you will hone skills in composition, value, texture and color through challenges and exercises that take your drawing and painting skills to the next level. Learn how to utilize perspective, color schemes, shape, line, form, and classic art techniques to produce artworks in charcoal, acrylics, and other mediums.

Michael Hollick is a teaching artist for numerous programs at The Art Effect. He is a graduate of Dutchess Community College, and is currently pursuing an Art Education certification from SUNY New Paltz. A jack of all trades, Michael has experience in everything from vehicle maintenance, to graphic design, to general contracting and construction. He brings his wide range of skills and interests to art education: teaching his students how to make ambitious sculptures and expressive paintings. Michael is passionate about giving back to the community, and believes the best way to make a difference is by empowering the next generation. In his spare time Michael enjoys cooking for his family, going on hikes, and watching scary movies.
