Design and tell your own visual story panel by panel using traditional materials such as bristol board, pencils, tracing paper, sable brushes, and india ink. Referencing film, video, comic books and comic strips, you will learn how to break down ideas into the "keyframes" to create your story. Learn how to create pages within the ‘Elements of Art’ including line quality, shading, variety, emphasis, and perspective.

Students are required to bring 9”x12” sketchbooks.

Ed Murr is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology’s MFA in Illustration Program. Currently he continues his career as a Freelance Illustrator while teaching Illustration at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Montclair State University and Pratt Institute. He has been working as an illustrator for over twenty years, most notable with Marvel Comics.
