An advanced mentoring and portfolio development course designed to help earn top scholarship awards by developing a strong body of artwork. Senior Project is open to all aspiring art students in their senior or junior year or in a post-high school gap year. Students will complete 10 pieces of artwork, as well as a visual research sketchbook that reflects a deeper understanding of learned concepts. A new, finished piece will be expected at every class for critique as well as the previous week’s piece after applying feedback. Once completed you will exhibit your work at a public gallery event, be given letters of recommendation from the instructor, and direct assistance applying to the colleges of your choice.
Registrants will be contacted to schedule a meeting with the instructor prior to the first day to review the course commitments as well as the registrant's current portfolio. Interview meetings are anticipated to occur on Sept 1st and will be scheduled on an individual basis.
Students will be required to develop 2 proposals for conceptual themes for their body of course work prior to the first day.
Students are required to bring a 9”x12” sketchbook.
Scholarships are available to those in economic need. To apply for a scholarship, please complete a Scholarship Application Form and send it to info@thearteffect.org.
