The Art Effect

Abby Lessick is a freelance artist and illustrator living in Poughkeepsie, NY. She received her BFA in drawing and painting from SUNY New Paltz and has been running her art business for the last five years. Her artwork focuses primarily on the intricacies of nature, on finding beauty in tiny elements like mushrooms, flowers, and moss. She taught Foundations in Painting and Foundations in Drawing/Illustration at the Art Effect this past Spring semester. In her free time she loves reading, writing, and being outdoors. She can’t wait to share her passion for drawing and painting with her students. Her classes can expect to learn everything from different methods of shading, drawing/painting from life, taking the best possible reference photos, creating fun and meaningful compositions, using diverse types of materials, and much more!
