Financial Assistance
The Art Effect is pleased to offer financial assistance/scholarships to students in need to offset the cost of classes throughout the year. Please call our office at (845) 471-7477 for more information or click here to complete the Scholarship Application form. Scholarship requests are processed each session on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Full and partial scholarships are determined based on household size and income and may include other factors such as zip code that make it difficult to afford full tuition. Apply for financial support here.
The Art Effect’s financial assistance is supported by generous donors and funders
The Ted and Carole Wolf Scholarship Fund
We believe in pulling down all the barriers to high-quality arts programming. The Ted and Carole J. Wolf Scholarship Fund and other generous donors like you raised $88,290 in 2023 and provided more than 109 students with financial support. Named in honor of one of our founders, Carole Wolf, and her beloved, late husband Ted, this fund provides youth who otherwise would not be able to access our programs without full or partial financial assistance.
The Jordan Jones Scholarship Award
Jordan “Jae” Jones joined The Art Effect in the spring of 2019 as a youth media producer in the Spark Studios media workforce program. Jordan continued his work with The Art Effect as a key production assistant for Forge Media, a member of the Trolley Barn Gallery Curatorial team, and a part-time video producer for The Art Effect’s in-house productions. Though Jordan was often quiet, his words were powerful. The Art Effect was a safe place for Jordan and he was like family to all of the students and staff. Thanks to the contributions of his friends and family in honor of his legacy, we are able to give a scholarship to young artists pursuing their dreams in media arts.
Local Foundation Gifts and Grants
Thanks to the generous support of local foundations, The Art Effect awarded youth in Poughkeepsie and Hyde Park $46,000 in financial assistance to attend Dutchess Arts Camp and the Summer Art Institute in 2023.
