Take your art up a notch in this 2 week intensive portfolio building program! The Summer Art Institute is an intensive portfolio building program that takes your talented students' skills to the next level! During their time with us, students will be educated in advanced fine art and digtial art making tecniques, as well as contemporary concepts that will help them develop unique and engaging works of art. Students will recieve feedback and guidence from our staff of working artists, participate in portfolio reviews with college representatives, create a network of like-minded peers, explore new materials, and expand their artistic knowledge!
The Summer Art Institute’s Digital Arts track includes courses in Digital Illustration, Mixed-Media Animation, and Color & Human Figure. This comprehensive track is perfect for young artists interested in creating a strong portfolio that includes impressive digital artworks and animations. Projects include working with clay for stop motion animations, creating original characters, developing contemporary narrative artworks, and exploring experimental techniques. Digital Arts students will spend this summer using their artistic knowledge to develop an authentic, refined, and mature digital art portfolio!
Students are asked to bring a sketchbook. All other materials are included.

Discover the artist in you! In this exciting 8-week course, students will experiment with colored pencils, charcoal, and acrylic paint to create one-of-a-kind masterpieces! Learn to draw and paint both from observation and imagination to create portraits, landscapes, still lifes, and more. Along the way, you’ll build skills in color theory, value, key/tone, and composition– the building blocks of great art! A sketchbook is required.
This course prepares students for Portfolio Development I.
