Hudson Valley Regional Portfolio Day Returns to Poughkeepsie

The Art Effect is excited to announce the 24th annual Hudson Valley Regional Portfolio Day, taking place at the MJN (Majad J. Nesheiwat) Convention Center in Poughkeepsie on Friday, October 4th, 2024, from 4:00–8:00 pm.
For over two decades, Portfolio Day has provided high school and undergraduate art students with the opportunity to meet with admissions representatives from 30 national colleges and universities. These experts come together in one location and provide individualized feedback on art portfolios, boosting scholarship opportunities and strengthening applications to prestigious art schools and universities nationwide. This year, students will have the chance to meet representatives from renowned institutions like Pratt Institute, FIT, and Maryland Institute College of Art. This event is FREE and open to students, teachers, guidance counselors, parents, and interested members of the general public. Students are invited to bring 10–20 pieces of their best, most recent artwork for professional feedback—an essential step in crafting a standout college application. Many Hudson Valley students and The Art Effect participants have discovered their dream schools at Portfolio Day, gaining an advantage in the college application process.
Portfolio Day welcomes students from across the region, with some traveling up to 200 miles. Attendees can access catalogs, admission policies, and scholarship information directly from their preferred schools. College representatives have praised the exceptional quality of art projects reviewed by our students.
